In September of 1901, Vice President Theodore Roosevelt returned early from a hunting trip due to the untimely death of President McKinley. Still on his hunting attire and distraught from the tragedy, Roosevelt realized that he was the new President of the United States. In the library of the Wilcox Mansion, Roosevelt took the Presidential Oath wearing borrowed clothing due to the unpredictable situation. Roosevelt handled the transition with grace, style & pride. In 1904 Theodore Roosevelt won his own landslide election and took his second Presidential Oath on the steps of the Capital building in Washington DC.

This limited edition teddy stands proud with hiss right paw in the air as he takes the “Oath”. Carefully sewn onto his raised right paw is a piece of an actual silk vest owned and worn by Theodore Roosevelt.
